UMVIM Training

01/18/2014

The York River District UMVIM Training will be held in Fellowship Hall from 9:30am to 3:30pm.

UMVIM trains and coordinates those who wish to do mission work. That work can be in response to a disaster or in response to an on-going need. If you have a heart for mission and helping others, UMVIM is a great place to serve. Trips are planned in advance with some knowledge of the goals for mission team members. UMVIM training prepares individuals to be team leaders of such planned trips - how to plan a trip, insurance coverage, how to prepare your team for the trip, how to de-brief them during the experience, and how to handle situations that may arise during the trip. UMVIM training is not limited to those who wish to lead a team, but is good training for anyone interested in mission.

Team Leader Training is required for all first time United Methodist Volunteers in Mission team leaders, but all interested persons are welcome to attend whether leading a team or not. Each training session will be from 9:30am to 3:30pm, with registration beginning at 8:45am. There is a $55 registration fee for each participant, payable when you register. Lunch will be provided. Continuing Education Units (0.5 units) will be provided for those needing CEU certification.
