Small Groups Fall 2010

For the fall semester Wesley will offer a variety of small groups (see below). Most groups meet once a week in fellowship to grow closer to God and pray. If you have any questions, contact individual group leaders or the discipleship chair, Matt Thompson (mhthompson@wm.edu).

Led by Stefanie Higgins (smhiggins@wm.edu) and Chelsea Estancona (clestancona@wm.edu)

"Come to the Table of Mercy"

Meeting Time TBA
That's more than just the opening lyrics to a wonderful communion song, it is the practice of many Wesleyites as we gather weekly for song, prayer, scripture, reflection and sharing in the Lord's Supper.  If you would like to meet Jesus and some of his friends regularly at The Table, then join us for Communion in the Wesley Fellowship Hall.

Religion Courses Discussion

Meets thricely this semester (I love saying thricely!)

Taking a class in the Religious Studies Department, or a class in another department that has strong faith or religious dimensions (e.g., Literature and the Bible, History of the Reformation, Sociology of Religion, etc.).  You are invited to join this group which meets three times during the semester (once a month) to talk about what you're learning, questions that are being raised, and how the class is impacting your faith.  At semester's end Wesley gives you $50!  Want to join?  Sign up at Wesley!

Movies at Wesley

Meets monthly

So many movies, so little time!  Contemporary films portray significant aspects of faith and life, so what better place to view and discuss them?  Recent films watched by this group include The Visitor, Henry Poole is Here, Gran Torino, and Joyeux Noel.  Free popcorn and provocative discussion questions always provided!
